Cookies
Cookies are small files a website stores on your device. We use them in two places, for different reasons.
On this website. Google Analytics is the only thing that stores anything here. Block or delete its cookies in your browser settings and every page still works.
In the software you sign in to. Signing in stores a few things on your device, and they are how we keep you signed in: a session cookie that ends when you close your browser, a sign-in token so you do not type your password every time, and a signed token that lets your own uploaded images load. Your browser also holds your access token and small preferences, like a panel you have dismissed.
If you ask us to remember you, that sign-in token keeps working for up to 60 days, and each time you use it the 60 days start again. If you do not, closing your browser signs you out.
None of it follows you around other websites, and none of it is shared with anybody else. It is also the only way we can tell one signed-in person from another, so there is no way to switch it off and keep using the software.
Analytics on our website
We use Google Analytics, a service provided by Google, to understand how our website is used: which pages people read, how they found us, and roughly what part of the world they are in. It tells us which parts of our documentation are useful and which are not.
Google acts as a processor on our behalf. Data may be transferred to and processed on servers outside the European Economic Area, under the transfer safeguards Google provides for that purpose.
Google Analytics sets cookies on your device so we can tell a returning visit from a new one. If you visit from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, it does not: for those visits we run it in a mode that stores nothing on your device and does not recognize you between visits.
We do not use Google Analytics for advertising. Its advertising features are switched off on our website. You can block or delete its cookies in your browser settings at any time, or install Google's opt-out browser add-on.
